History
Reiki is an energy healing technique that originated in Japan in 1922 thanks to Mikao Usui, following a spiritual experience on Mount Kurama. It is based on channelling universal energy to promote well-being and self-healing. Spread to the West by Hawayo Takata, it is now practised all over the world.
How does it work?
Reiki works by transferring universal energy from the practitioner’s hands to the person being treated. During a session, the Reiki practitioner gently places their hands on specific areas of the body (or holds them just above), with the intention of restoring energy balance and activating natural self-healing processes.
It is non-invasive, uses no tools or drugs, and acts on all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki is suitable for people of all ages and can be integrated with other therapies or holistic practices. It is particularly recommended during times of change, stress, or difficulty, but also as a means of prevention and maintenance of inner balance.
Distance Reiki
The healing energy of Reiki can be transmitted at a distance, reaching people anywhere in the world, even without their physical presence. Distance transmission is as powerful as if it were done directly in person. Reiki can be sent to specific situations, both current and future, to facilitate an easier path or achieve better results. It can also be directed to the cause of a health problem or to individual areas of the body, such as in the case of a headache.
