SHIRO = head
ABHYANGA =massage with oils
History
Shiroabhyanga is an ancient Ayurvedic treatment originating in India, the traditional medical system with roots dating back over 5,000 years. Ayurveda considers the head to be one of the most important areas for the health of the entire body as it houses the brain, regulates the senses and contains vital energy points.
How does it work?
The treatment focuses on massaging acupressure points on the face, scalp, neck, shoulders and upper back, areas where physical and emotional tension often accumulates. The experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving you feeling more energetic, focused and revitalised.
Indian head massage is a non-invasive and very accessible technique: it does not require the use of oils (although they can be applied when necessary) or special equipment. It is performed while seated and wearing light clothing.
